The Firm
Keatinge & Kelly was founded the year a fax machine was considered a competitive advantage. We have outlasted several lenders, two carpet colours in reception, and the idea that a mortgage application belongs in a Word document.
What we have always believed
Advice should be given by a person with a name, not a call-centre script. You should be able to telephone and reach Margaret, who has been with us since the original letterhead. The principals still review every file.
We are not nostalgic for the paperwork. We are nostalgic for care. The public link on this website is the one concession to modernity we are prepared to advertise, because it is the one that actually serves the client.
A brief chronology
- 1987The partnership opens above a chemist in Caulfield. The kettle is louder than the phones.
- 1994First refinance completed without a single fax going missing. Celebrated with Arnott’s.
- 2006Mr Kelly purchases the teak desk. It is still here. Do not put coffee on it.
- 2019We acquire an associate who has heard of “the cloud.” Scepticism is recorded in the minutes.
- NowA Quickli public link sits where the PDF used to. The handshake survived. The PDF did not.
Why a website at all
Because clients asked. Because Brenton, our associate, would not stop mentioning it. And because a public link on a real-looking site is how a fact find ought to start - in your coat of paint, then into the scenario we actually work. We remain available by appointment.
